Partners

The partners we’re seeking
— world-class in every discipline.

The Clean Air Initiative requires expertise across filtration technology, street lighting infrastructure, local government, and independent environmental monitoring. We are actively seeking partners in each area.

The partnerships that
would make it work.

No partnerships are in place yet. Each organisation below is a target partner bringing a capability essential to the Clean Air Initiative; all initial conversations are conducted under a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement — available on request.

🌀
Dyson
Filtration Technology Partner
Dyson's air filtration technology — particularly their modular cartridge system and expertise in high-efficiency particulate filtration — is the target technology partner for the filtration unit. Dyson's engineering culture of practical problem-solving and their deep expertise in air quality makes them the natural fit. The James Dyson Foundation is also a parallel funding route, focused on funding practical engineering solutions to real-world problems.

UK Mobile Networks / IoT Connectivity
Cellular IoT (NB-IoT / LTE-M)
Every unit carries its own low-power cellular IoT module, connecting over the UK's existing mobile networks — the same class of connectivity already used by councils' smart streetlight central management systems. This is commodity infrastructure: low cost per unit per month, sub-2W power draw, and no bespoke technology partnership required, which removes connectivity as a deployment risk entirely. For off-grid sites — rural roads, motorways, export markets — a satellite-connected variant (e.g. Starlink) is retained as a design option.

💡
CU Phosco / Urbis Schréder
Street Lighting Hardware
CU Phosco and Urbis Schréder are the dominant suppliers of street lighting columns and light heads to UK local authorities. Partnership with one or both provides access to existing supply chains, credibility with councils, and the ability to offer the Clean Air Initiative column as part of existing street lighting replacement and maintenance contracts. They understand the procurement channels, the technical standards, and the customer relationships.

is non-negotiable.

📡
LAQN / Breathe London
Independent Air Quality Monitoring
The London Air Quality Network and Breathe London provide independent, credible air quality monitoring that is essential for validating the Clean Air Initiative's claimed impact. Their involvement in the Brixton Road pilot provides third-party verification of pollution reduction results — the foundation of credibility with funders, local authorities, and the public. Their data is the standard by which the pilot's success will be measured.

🏛
Lambeth Council
Pilot Site Partner
Lambeth Council is the target local authority partner for the Brixton Road pilot. Lambeth has shown real leadership on air quality — NO₂ on Brixton Road has more than halved since 2014 — and the Clean Air Initiative is offered as a partner to help finish the job on the borough’s remaining hotspots. Approach: alignment with their Air Quality Action Plan, a joint DEFRA / Mayor’s Air Quality Fund co-funding bid, and engagement with their environment and highways teams (and TfL where the road is a red route).

🔬
Innovate UK
Primary Grant Funding
Innovate UK's Clean Air Contracts programme and Net Zero Innovation Portfolio are the primary grant funding targets. The Clean Air Initiative is well-positioned — a practical, scalable clean technology solution with a clear route to commercial deployment. Expression of interest to be submitted as an immediate priority. Grant funding up to £1m+ for qualifying projects.

All initial conversations are conducted under NDA
Before sharing the full technical specification with any potential partner, the Clean Air Initiative requires a signed mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement. This protects both parties and ensures that sensitive technical details and commercial plans remain confidential. A standard NDA template is available on request — most organisations will have their own template which is equally acceptable.
